Bishop Mayer makes final visitation

On Sunday, December 4, 2022, Bishop Scott Mayer made his last visitation in the North Region of the Episcopal Diocese of Texas. Bishop Mayer to conclude time as Assisting Bishop at end of year

Bishop Andy Doyle and Bishop Scott Mayer have written letters to the Diocese of Texas announcing that Bishop Mayer’s time as assisting bishop in the North Region will end at the end of the year. Three congregations change their names

Three congregations of the Diocese of Texas North Region have changed their names. St. Alban’s, Theatre Arlington, is now All Souls; St. Mary’s, Hamilton, is now St. Catherine’s, and the Episcopal Church in Wichita Falls is now Faith Episcopal Church. In St. Alban’s case, the name All Souls was picked from a list of finalist names by a vote of the congregation. All the names came were suggestions from members of the congregation. St. Luke’s Stephenville pantry serves 500/month

The Food Pantry of St Luke’s Episcopal Church in Stephenville has been operating out of “the Corner House” adjacent to the church for 10 years.     During the pandemic, distribution was switched to drive-through to protect clients and volunteers. Currently the Food Pantry distributes food and cleaning supplies to 500 people a month.     The pantry’s directors are Judy Blackburn and Fran Jurney. Steve Grenzow, communication and administrative assistant for the former Episcopal Church in North Texas, now the North Region, Episcopal Diocese of Texas, has resigned August 1. He began work in October 2019. The Episcopal Church of North Texas Votes Unanimously to Reunite with The Episcopal Diocese of Texas

JUNE 18, 2022: The Episcopal Church in North Texas, (ECNTX) formerly the Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth, today voted overwhelmingly to reunite with the Episcopal Diocese of Texas (EDOT). The vote was the sole business of a Special Meeting of Diocesan Convention at Trinity Episcopal Church, Fort Worth. The vote for reuniting was 69 to 0. The vestry of St. Christopher Fort Worth has announced that they have called the Rev. Paula K. Jefferson  to be their Priest-in-Charge, She will begin August 1, 2022. St. Christopher is worshiping at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, 5709 Wedgwood, Fort Worth, TX 76133, since they lost their building in 2021.
