High, Jr., confirmed seven young people and received two adults into The Episcopal Church during his visitation to St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Stephenville, on Sunday, October 19, 2014. The Rev. Cherie Shipp named to Brite Board of Visitors

Cherie Shipp, CPA/CFF, a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Fort Worth, will join the Board of Visitors of Brite Divinity School for a three-year term. Shipp is a trustee and treasurer of the Corporation of the Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth and a member of the diocesan Finance Committee.  She is a former member of the Executive Council of the Diocese and a former treasurer for Trinity. Pre-diocesan convention deanery meetings set

Pre-diocesan convention deanery meetings have been scheduled in all deaneries of the diocese. The meetings are open to all interested people. All convention delegates are expected to attend the meeting in their deanery as part of their leadership role as delegates to the 2014 Diocesan Convention November 14-15 at the Jack Daniels Club at Globe Life Park in Arlington. October 5 – Open House, Hymn Fest, and new clergy welcomed

Sunday. October 5, 2014, was a busy day in the diocese. In addition to all the regular Sunday worship services, three congregations welcomed new clergy, the  Episcopal Church of Hamilton County held an Open House, and the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Granbury hosted a Hymn Fest of Traditional Christian Hymns. Tony Hiatt ordained deacon

Tony Hiatt was ordained to the Sacred Order of Deacons on Tuesday, October 7, 2014, at Trinity Episcopal Church, Fort Worth, by the Rt. Rev. Rayford B. High, Jr. The Rev. Fred Barber, former rector of Trinity and director of Episcopal studies at Brite Divinity School, preached. Hiatt has lived in Fort Worth since 1999. Mission and Outreach Committee awards 10 grants

The Mission and Outreach Committee of the Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth has announced a total of $22,054 in matching grants for six ministries within the diocese and grants for four ministries beyond the diocese for 2014. Grants in the Matching Grant Outreach Program for ministry within the diocese totaled $15,261. St. Alban’s, Arlington, hires interim priest

St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, Arlington, has hired the Rev. Norma Barr as an interim priest. Her first Sunday was October 5, 2014. She will serve until they have a permanent priest-in-charge. Barr was born and raised in Dunfermline, Scotland. She went to college in Edinburgh, Scotland.
