Bishop High given honorary doctorate
The Rt. Rev. Rayford B. High, Jr., was given an honorary Doctor of Divinity by the University of South, Sewanee, as part of the Founders’ Day Convocation on Friday, October 17, 2014. The Rev. Karl Travis of First Presbyterian Church, Fort Worth, engaging with Robert Biehl of the Episcopal Diocese of Texas. “Exploring the 21st Century American Religious Frontier: the Church’s New Territory (If we want it)” will explore new approaches for the established institutional church to grapple with dramatic changes in American culture and reach youth and young adults. It’s presented by Mary MacGregor of the Episcopal Diocese of Texas and Katie Hays, a Yale and Princeton Divinity-trained minister engaged in the “next church.”
