The Rev. Canon Janet Waggoner on sabbatical

The Rev. Canon Janet Waggoner on sabbatical

The Rev. Canon Janet Waggoner will be on sabbatical from November 15, 2021, to February 28, 2022.

While she is away, Administrative Assistant Michele King will work with Bishop Scott Mayer and the Rev. Canon Mike Ehmer of Northwest Texas to handle duties related to the Canon to the Ordinary. The Rev. Canon Linda Taylor also will assist as needed.

Waggoner began working as Canon to the Ordinary in the Spring of 2013.

According to the Episcopal Church glossary sabbatical “comes from the word ‘sabbath,’ and means seven or seventh. It means a period of rest and an intermission in labor. A sabbatical year is the seventh year. It is a time when persons are relieved from their duties for study and travel. It is now used for a period of leave that is not necessarily every seven years. Sometimes it is called a ‘sabbatical leave.’”
