New Congregational Grant Requests process announced at Executive Council
At the March 1, 2014, meeting of the Executive Council, Finance Committee member Cherie Shipp reported on a new Congregational Grant Requests approval process “to support the growth in mission and ministry for new or restart of existing congregations. Financial assistance will be provided to supplement clergy compensation and benefits. The goal is to support growth of congregations in their mission and ministry and to help them to self-sufficiency in three years or less.” The process was put in place…
Apply now for mission funding
This year’s diocesan budget includes $11,233 for outreach programs within the diocese and $6,479 for programs beyond its geographical boundaries. Mark Daly, chair of the diocese’s Mission and Outreach Committee (a subcommittee of the diocesan Finance Committee) recently wrote to congregations across the diocese, requesting that congregations and ministries submit applications for the budgeted funds by Sept. 1.

By the end of July, the members of the diocese’s finance committee will be ready to present a proposed budget – to deaneries during the month of August, and to the executive council at its Sept. 28 meeting at All Saints, Fort Worth.
Finance committee asks for budget input
The Finance Committee is requesting your input for the 2014 triennial budget. Copies of the 2014 preliminary budget (approved at the 2012 diocesan convention), information concerning congregation assessments, and a request form for budget funds have been sent to senior wardens, rectors/priests-in-charge, and treasurers via email.

The 30th Diocesan Convention of the Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth on November 2-3 was full of milestones. The Rt. Rev. Rayford B. High, Jr., recently retired bishop suffragan of the Episcopal Diocese of Texas, was elected and installed as the third provisional bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth on Saturday, November 3, at the convention in Stephenville at Tarleton State University.
