Little Free Library dedication set at St. Luke’s

The Little Free Library at St. Luke’s in the Meadow, Fort Worth, will be dedicated on Sunday, April 17, immediately following the 10 am worship service. The library was built by Audrey de Cardenas as her project for East Fort Worth 4H. It memorializes  Aaron Forrester, the deceased son of Laurie Alsobrook, a parishioner.

The goal of the Little Free Library movement is “to promote literacy and the love of reading by building free book exchanges worldwide and to build a sense of community as we share skills, creativity and wisdom across generations. There are over 36,000 Little Free Library book exchanges around the world, bringing curbside literacy home and sharing millions of books annually.”

St. Stephen’s, Hurst, also has a Little Free Library in front of their building. Parishioners built it with the look of a classic Episcopal Church, complete with red doors. It was installed in October 2015. It has become a popular stop for the neighborhood.
