Last year the Rev. Susan Slaughter, retired rector of St. Luke’s in the Meadow, Fort Worth; and the Rev. Christmas for Children is one of the charities supported by the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, Granbury. The Mission and Outreach Committee of the Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth has announced a total of $22,054 in matching grants for six ministries within the diocese and grants for four ministries beyond the diocese for 2014. Bishop Rayford High drove to Cleburne recently for one specific purpose – to hand over $6,000 to the Cleburne Area Relief Fund to assist in the ongoing rebuilding efforts in that community.
