Episcopal Church Women Reorganizational Meeting

Episcopal Church Women Reorganizational Meeting

The Episcopal Church Women (ECW) Reorganizing Committee continues its work. On Saturday May 9 the following women were appointed to serve until the election of officers by the ECW body: Susann Eller (Trinity, FW) interim Secretary, Lynne Minor (All Saints, FW) interim Treasurer, and Concha Jones (Trinity, FW) interim Historian.

Watch for the United Thank Offering (UTO) ingathering for Father’s Day, June 21. Zonnie Back (Good Shepherd, Granbury) will coordinate this special ingathering from all the parishes and faith communities in The Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth with the help of Lynn Minor and Cynthia Hill (All Saints, FW). (For more information about UTO, visit http://www.episcopalchurch.org/uto.htm.) Your parishes and faith community will receive UTO envelops for this special gathering. Our delegates to the ECW Triennial will present our combined offerings at General Convention for the first time in many years.

Delane Angelini (Trinity, FW) has volunteered to coordinate a late summer ECW Garden Coffee. This will be our first ECW event for every woman in the diocese. At this event, we will accept nominations for the offices that are vacant on the ECW Board.

Marti Fagley (Episcopal Church in Parker County), Susann Eller, and Lynn Minor will coordinate the Fall ECW Gathering. The ECW Gathering will be the business meeting to elect officers nominated earlier and adopt the Bylaws. We plan a luncheon and program as well. Dates for both are not yet confirmed; please watch for these announcements to be posted on the diocesan website.

Deacon Sharla Marks (St. Alban’s) and Concha Jones, the Bylaw Committee, presented their revisions of the former bylaws. Our committee reviewed their first draft at this meeting and will continue the review process at our next meeting in June.

We are researching locations for a spring ECW weekend retreat and program. We want everything in place when the new board takes office. Thank you for your support and prayers during this process.
