With the goal of supporting congregations’ growth in stewardship, Bishop High has named a five-person stewardship team – Bob Bess (St. Martin-in-the-Fields Keller), Mary Lilly (St. Luke Stephenville), Mark Neyland (Trinity Fort Worth), Oswell Person (St. Christopher Fort Worth), and Whit Smith (All Saints Fort Worth). The team will work in partnership with the bishop and with diocesan stewardship officer Demi Prentiss, linking congregations with people and resources.
In their July meeting, team members decided that their initial work would focus on helping congregations access and make use of the resources on the TENS (The Episcopal Network for Stewardship) website. They committed to discussing some of the provocative ideas in Creating Congregations of Generous People by Michael Durrall, as well as the “Share Save Spend” framework taught by Nathan Dungan. And they’re on the lookout for more people who are passionate about stewardship and who want to join the diocesan team.
