Capital Campaign Survey Link open through Feb. 15

Capital Campaign Survey Link open through Feb. 15

At diocesan Convention in November, the Convention voted to explore a diocesan-wide capital campaign. A Capital Campaign Committee has been formed, chaired by Floyd McKneely, and a study process is underway to determine the purposes and goals of this campaign. Goals identified at the outset of the study include these:

  • funding for clergy salaries for church plants and church “re-plants”
  • funding for a full-time bishop
  • funding for campus ministry
  • funding for other mission and ministry endeavors – things that we can do better together than we can as individual congregations.

Recently, Bishop High announced an invitation to participate in the study phase of the process. This survey asks you to give feedback on the goals of the capital campaign. You’ll be asked how high of a priority you would give to each one of the five goals listed above and whether you see any other priorities not currently included in the list that you believe are critical right now for the future of the diocese. The survey will also ask how feasible you think it would be for the diocese to raise $3 million or more in the next 3 to 5 years and how or whether that goal would fit with your own giving priorities. The results of the survey, along with results from one-on-one interviews and focus groups conducted in each of the five deaneries, will be compiled and analyzed by the consulting firm hired by the diocese, RSI Stewardship, and reported back to the Capital Campaign Committee. A full report is expected by late March. The report will advise the committee whether the diocese appears ready at this time to proceed with a capital campaign. The next steps will largely be determined from the feedback collected in this part of the process, so it’s critical that as many people as possible participate in the survey process so the consultant will have a clearer picture of views throughout the diocese and from every congregation. Before you take the survey, please read the case statement describing the goals of the “Funding for the Future” campaign. Then, respond to the survey, which should take about 10 minutes. The survey will stay open only through February 15. Responses cannot be recorded after February 15. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Floyd McKneely (contact information removed).
