Bob Schorr shares church planting wisdom

October 12-16 the Diocese of Fort Worth will host Bob Schorr, coordinator for congregational development for the Diocese of Texas. Schorr will tour Parker County, the Haslet area, and the Cleburne area, meeting with local leaders and offering insights on church planting.

Executive Council’s management workgroup meets October 17

The implementation of Canon 10 – adopted in November 2012 to re-frame the working structure of the diocesan executive council – was a major topic at the Sept. 28 meeting of executive council. ( link ) On October 17, the executive council’s management workgroup will continue the conversation at its 4:30pm meeting at the diocesan office.

Registration open for Forma conference

Episcopal Christian educators are invited to attend the annual Tapestry conference of Forma (formerly the National Association of Episcopal Christian Education Directors – NAECED), scheduled for Jan. 22-24, 2014 at the Crowne Plaza in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia.

Pre-convention deanery meetings set

Dates for pre-convention deanery meetings have been set. These are the meetings at which delegates to convention and others who are interested review the proposed diocesan budget, any proposed resolutions, and nominations for election at convention. They also must elect a dean (1 year) and a sub-dean (1 year). Deaneries also will elect a lay and/or clergy representative to executive council (3 years). Report of meeting of executive council on September 28, 2013

The executive council of the Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth met on Saturday, September  28, 2013, in the parish hall at All Saints Episcopal Church, 5001 Crestline Road, Fort Worth, TX, 76107.
