The youth of the Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth will have significant roles in when Episcopal Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori and House of Deputies President Gay Jennings visit the diocese on February 8, 2014.
Lunch and conversation
All youth in the diocese are invited to have lunch and conversation with Jefferts Schori from 12-1:30 pm. Each youth must register for lunch by Monday, February 3, 2014. This is a unique opportunity to meet the presiding bishop; we would like as many youth as possible to participate. If the registration cost is a hardship for any young people, congregations should help with the cost.
Acolytes
Each congregation in the diocese will have one acolyte position available. Those acolytes will be required to register and pay the $25 registration cost if they will be eating lunch with the presiding bishop. If the cost is a hardship, the congregation must help pay the cost for the acolyte. The acolyte should bring her or his own vestments. Rehearsal for the Eucharist will be between the youth luncheon and the Eucharist from 1:30-3 pm.
Banners
Each congregation will also be able to appoint a non-vested youth to carry their church banner. Please send the banner and stand with the youth appointed for the day. If your church has a banner but no youth able to attend, please notify the Rev. Amy Haynie and a youth carrier will be appointed from those who are there for lunch with the presiding bishop.
Please direct all question to the Rev. Amy Haynie (email removed).
