In early November, two Episcopalians in Wise County reached out to the diocesan office through the “contact” feature on the diocesan website, seeking some connection with The Episcopal Church. Bishop High followed up immediately by email and later in a face-to-face conversation to discuss possibilities for establishing an Episcopal presence in Wise County.
The next step of this process will take place Friday, February 6 with an exploratory meeting in Boyd, Texas among three residents of Wise County who have indicated interest in pursuing this goal. Also attending the meeting will be diocesan representatives Elinor Normand, chair of the Congregational Development Committee, Canon to the Ordinary Janet Waggoner, and Tracie Middleton, ministry support & communications officer.
Other interested Wise County residents are welcome to attend the lunch meeting, set for 11:30 am Friday, February 6 at the Canteen restaurant, located at 124 West Rock Island Ave, Boyd, TX 76023.
For more information or to RSVP, contact Tracie Middleton at tracie.middleton@edotn.org.
