The Rev. Kevin Johnson, priest in charge at St. Alban’s, Theatre Arlington, will present a training day on the Congregational Discernment Process created for and currently being used by St. Alban’s and presented at a recent Clergy Day gathering. The training is for lay and clergy leaders and will be from 9:30 am to noon on Saturday, October 26, 2019, at the Grey House, All Saints’, Fort Worth. Please register below.
The Grey House is across Penticost Street from All Saints’, at the corner of Penticost and Dexter.
Coffee and a continental breakfast will be available at 9 am. Because the meeting is starting early, those who live more than an hour away will be reimbursed up to $120 for a hotel room Friday night.
Johnson points out that God has a unique dream for each parish, that we are allowed to continue to exist to help God make manifest God’s kingdom in our community, and God has and will continue to equip us with human and tangible resources to fulfill our purpose. The discernment process is designed to help congregations discern “God’s call for our future mission and ministry” in our area “and develop a recommendation to the EDFW Strategic Advisory Group (SAG) regarding the material assets needed to bring this ministry to life.”
