A concert by the world-renowned Canterbury Cathedral Choir of Men and Boys, from Canterbury, England is being presented on Thursday, April 12, at 7 p.m. in the UCC Sanctuary. Co-sponsored locally by University Christian Church and Trinity Episcopal Church, the Canterbury Cathedral Choir, under the direction of Cathedral Organist and Master of the Choristers, Dr. David Flood, is launching a tour of the U.S. in April and will be performing nine concerts in Texas, California, Oregon and Washington. The choir will be performing a rich, diverse program of choral masterworks spanning the centuries.

The choir consists of the complete, full-time ensemble from Canterbury: nineteen boys, ages 9 -13, twelve lay clerks (men’s voices), Dr. Flood and Sub-Organist David Newsholme. Under David Flood’s leadership, the Canterbury Cathedral Choir of Men and Boys has conducted a number of critically acclaimed tours in Europe and North America. Members of both churches will be providing home hosting accommodations for choir members. “We’re also planning some fun activities for the boys,” explained Tom Wilson of Trinity Episcopal Church. “They are eager to learn more about our western heritage, and we’re planning an excursion to the Stockyards while they are here.”
