Scot McComas installed as rector
The Rev. Scot McComas was installed as the third rector of St. Martin-in-the-Fields Episcopal Church in Keller on Saturday, May 30, 2015, by the Rt. Rev. Rayford B. High, Jr. Among the symbols of ministry presented to him was a stole that the children and youth of the parish had made. McComas was surprised and moved by the gift. St. Martin-in-the-Fields Episcopal Church, Keller, announced on Tuesday, December 2, that their new, and third, rector is the Rev. Scot McComas. He will start on February 9, 2015. McComas has spent ten years in ordained ministry, with experience in parishes and schools in Florida, North Carolina, New Jersey, and most recently, two parishes and the Parish Episcopal School in the Episcopal Diocese of Dallas. The Rt. Rev. Rayford B. High, Jr., visited St. Martin in the Fields Episcopal Church, Keller, on Sunday, November 9, 2014. Two were baptised, Leslie Fowles and Nicholas Hardman. The bishop received three, Kathy Wilkinson, Gary Wilkinson and John Dumbleton, and confirmed four, Leslie Fowles, Heather Wilson, April Elliott, and Gregory Anderson. St. Martin himself showed up for a celebratory ribbon cutting at St. Martin’s Episcopal School at St. Martin-in-the-Fields Episcopal Church, Keller, on Thursday, August 28, 2014. Packing lunches, touching lives
On the second Sunday of every month, teens and parents gather at St. Martin-in-the-Fields Episcopal Church, Keller, to make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and put together a complete lunch (water bottle, sandwich, chips, protein bar, and dessert) for the homeless people being served by the Union Gospel Mission of Tarrant County. Henry Penner was ordained to the vocational diaconate during the opening Eucharist at the 30th Diocesan Convention Friday, November 2, in the Thompson Student Center at Tarleton State University in Stephenville.
