Sign up by February 3 in order to reserve your box lunch at the Diocese of Fort Worth’s February 8 Reimagining Our Church gathering. Episcopalians from throughout the diocese will join together reimagining the church for the future, and will be joined by honored guests the Most Rev. Katharine Jefferts Schori, presiding bishop of The Episcopal Church, and the Rev. Gay Clark Jennings, president of the House of Deputies.
The occasion for the gathering is the commemoration of the re-organizing convention held February 7-8, 2009. Give-and-take sessions with the guests of honor will be followed by lunch and a panel discussion featuring members of the Task Force for Reimagining the Episcopal Church (TREC), Margaret Shannon and Julia Harris.
The events of the day, all of which take place at University Christian Church, 2620 South University Drive, Fort Worth, TX 76109, will begin at 9:30am and will conclude with Holy Eucharist at 3pm. Registration costs $25 and, if received by February 3, includes a box lunch.
Congregations have conducted reimagining exercises in preparation for the day, and will share their thoughts with the national leaders during the gathering, which promises to be an energizing and uplifting celebration. Read more about the reimagining process and the task force here.
