Standing Committee Report to the 2014 Diocesan Convention

During the year culminating in the 2014 diocesan Convention, the Standing Committee of the Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth performed the following duties:

1. Invited bishop Rayford High to continue as our provisional bishop through November 2015
2. Consented:
   1. to the election of Allen K. Shin to be bishop suffragan of the Diocese of New York
   2. to the election of Alan Gates to be bishop diocesan of Massachusetts
   3. to the election of Brian Richard Seage to be bishop diocesan of the Diocese of Mississippi
   4. to the election of Robert Stuart Skirving to be bishop diocesan of the Diocese of East Carolina
   5. to the election of Allen K. Shin to be bishop suffragan of the Diocese of New York
   6. to the election of Matthew Alan Gunter to be bishop diocesan of the Diocese of Fond du Lac)
   7. to the election of Elizabeth Cook to be bishop suffragan of the Diocese of Maryland
   8. to the search for a bishop coadjutor for the Diocese of the Dominican Republic
   9. to the search for a bishop coadjutor for the Diocese of West Texas
3. Consulted on the constitution rewrite
4. Consulted with Bishop High on Covenantal Blessings, state of the deaneries, and other diocesan entities and issues
5. Approved St. Andrew’s move to the chapel at University Christian Church, St. Stephen’s move to a new location in Hurst, and St. Mary’s-Hamilton move to a church building they had acquired
6. Selected Henry Penner and Becky Snell as co-chairs of the Nominations Committee
7. Assisted Victoria Prescott by providing input to a report on the state of the church to be presented at the 2015 General Convention
8. Accepted the resignation of Jeff Boleware; elected Mollee Westfall to be his replacement
9. Approved the ordination of Carl Saxton to the transitional diaconate and to the priesthood; approved the ordination of Tony Hiatt to the transitional diaconate. Interviewed Lynne Waltman and approved her request to be accepted as a candidate to the priesthood.
