Carl Saxton, seminarian and postulant for Holy Orders sponsored by St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church in Willow Park, has been invited to do an Anglican immersion internship this summer at the Anglican Communion Office for Continuing Indaba in London, England. The internship will be under the direction of the Rev. Dr. Jo Bailey Wells, the newly named chaplain for the Archbishop of Canterbury and a consultant with the ACO Continuing Indaba office. The internship includes a balance between work at the Anglican Communion Office with Continuing Indaba and a Church of England placement for 8 – 10 weeks.
When writing to Sewanee’s School of Theology, Mtr. Wells said she especially wanted someone who is fully informed regarding global Anglicanism and “has a good theological head on their shoulders.” The Rev. Kathryn Young, Director of Contextual Education at Sewanee, chose Carl for this honor. He is the only student invited to the internship, which begins in June.
The internship carries no stipend or travel (though room and board are included). St. Francis of Assisi, Willow Park, will hold a rummage sale to benefit Carl and his wife, Laura, from 8 a. m. to 3 p. m. on Saturday, May 4, at 1204 E. Bankhead Drive, Weatherford, TX.
People wanting to donate items to the sale should call David Hance at 817-341-6473 or 817-629-2242 to arrange a time to deliver the items. Items should be already priced by donors.
