Stations of the Cross at the Episcopal Church of Hamilton County

Members at the Episcopal Church of Hamilton County created crosses during Lent in preparation for Holy Week. The crosses reflect a wide range of artistic styles. They are displayed in the field next to the church where, at 6 pm on Good Friday, the congregation has invited the community to join them in the Stations of the Cross.

Reaffirmation of vows, blessing of oils

On Tuesday, March 31, 2015, the clergy of the diocese gathered with the Rt. Rev. Rayford B. High, Jr., at St. Luke’s in the Meadow Episcopal Church, Fort Worth, to reaffirm their vows. Bishop High also blessed vials of oil for use by the clergy in the coming year. Put on your gardening gloves at St. Luke’s in the Meadow

Members at St. Luke in the Meadow Episcopal Church and residents in the surrounding neighborhood got their hands dirty Saturday preparing and planting in the church’s community garden plots. There are 20 square spaces in the church’s garden, and some have already been planted with flowers, fruit, and vegetables, but others are available. “If you don’t have a spot to garden or a little patch of your own, come join us,” invites Lydia Hiatt, a member at St. Luke’s and an avid gardener. “All are…

Bishop High visits Episcopal Church of Wichita Falls on Palm Sunday

The Rt. Rev. Rayford B. High, Jr., visited the Episcopal Church of Wichita Falls on Palm Sunday. The service began outside with the blessing of the palms and a procession into the church. Bishop High visits Wise County Episcopalians

The Rt. Rev. Rayford B. High, Jr., visited the Episcopalians of Wise County in their newly-acquired worship space, the Boonsville Community Center, located at the intersection of Draco-Boonsville Rd (CR 3743) and FM 920 on Sunday, March 22, 2015. Boonsville is about an hour west of Fort Worth. The Rev. Dr. Wil Gafney inaugural lecture at Brite April 14

The Rev. Dr. Wil Gafney, Associate Professor of Hebrew Bible at Brite Divinity School, will give her inaugural lecture at 11 am, Tuesday, April 14, in the Robert Carr Chapel on the campus of Texas Christian University. Her lecture, “Poesis: A Womanist Hermeneutic of Biblical Translation – Who Says These Are God’s Words,” will be followed by a luncheon in the Bass Conference Center. St. Francis, Parker County, dedicates new hangings

St. Francis Episcopal Church, holding services at Community Christian Church, 2 Dean St, Aledo, 76008,  recently dedicated new hangings for their worship space. They were made by Valerie Dyke, daughter of longtime members Marti and Walt Fagley. Dyke designed the quilted hangings as well as making them. She also takes part in the congregation’s ministry to Brookedale Assisted Living facility in Weatherford. Each month, musicians from the congregation lead singing and various clergy lead worship services at the facility.    …

Wise County Episcopalians begin worshiping

Wise County Episcopalians and other interested people gathered Thursday March 12 for a second meeting about initiating an Episcopal presence in the area. Response to Bishop Iker’s letter to All Saints’

Tom Leatherbury, attorney for the Episcopal Parties and a lifelong Episcopalian, has responded to David Weaver, attorney for the breakaway group, regarding former Bishop Jack Iker’s March 6, 2015, letter to All Saints’ Episcopal Church, Fort Worth, demanding that All Saints’ submit to a so-called Canon 32 procedure. Standing Committee in search process

In November, at the 2014 Diocesan Convention, the Rt. Rev. Rayford B. High, Jr., announced that he would be stepping down as the diocese’s provisional bishop at its 2015 Diocesan Convention.
