Andrew Ellison to be ordained deacon at St. Alban’s

God willing and the people consenting, Andrew Ellison will be ordained as a deacon at 7 pm on Wednesday, December 16 at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, meeting in Theatre Arlington. Ellison was born and raised in the DFW metroplex. He graduated from Texas Tech University in 2007, studying Sociology. St. Martin’s school children embrace Thanksgiving spirit

With Thanksgiving approaching, the students of St. Martin’s Episcopal School talked about many things that they were thankful for, including family, friends, toys, candy and Jesus. The Rev. Scot McComas, rector, and Ms. Corrie Cabe, school chaplain, both participated. During chapel, the children prayed over shoes that would go to homeless men getting a fresh start at Union Gospel Mission of Tarrant County. Lutherans host forum on gun laws in relation to houses of worship

Trinity to celebrate with Lutheran neighbors for Thanksgiving

Trinity Episcopal Church will join with five neighboring Lutheran churches for a Thanksgiving Eve Service this year. Trinity will join with five area Lutheran churches: Faith, Grace, St. Matthew’s, San Gabriel and Trinity Lutheran. Trinity will host the service, scheduled for Wednesday, November 25 at 7:00 pm. After the service, attendees will gather in the Parish Hall at Trinity for a pie potluck. If you would like to bring a pie, Trinity has a sign-up sheet. All are welcome!

“Going to Galilee,” a video detailing the 2015 Mission and Outreach Grants of the Mission and Outreach Committee of the diocese, was shown on Saturday, November 14, at diocesan convention at the Botanic Garden Center. In 2011 convention delegates affirmed the principle of the tithe and in 2012 set a goal of reaching 10 percent of the annual assessment being budgeted for charitable purposes by 2018.
