Funeral for St. Alban’s Jeph Abara January 28
After a long battle with cancer Jeph Abara, beloved member of St. Alban’s, Theatre Arlington, died December 27, 2016. A life-long runner, Abara in his later years organized races benefiting charities throughout Fort Worth and Arlington. The Rev. Bishop High to celebrate 50th anniversary of ordination
Bishop Rayford B. High, Jr., assisting bishop of Fort Worth, will celebrate the 50th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood on the Feast of the Epiphany, January 6. High served as provisional bishop of the Diocese of Fort Worth from November 2012 to June 2015. Prior to that, he served as bishop suffragan of the Diocese of Texas from 2003-Spring 2012. Nativity nichos focus of Pray All-Ways event
St. Alban’s, Theatre Arlington, gathered for Pray All-Ways: Advent to learn about the history, symbols, and spirituality of the nativity creche. Then participants made their own nativity nichos as a practice of prayer through creativity. A nicho is a diorama construction from Mexican folk art, a mini-scene in a box that uses dried flowers, paste jewels, colored paper, photographs, and other objects to pay tribute to iconic figures – in this case, Baby Jesus, Mary, and Joseph.
