Canon to the Ordinary Janet Waggoner has announced that, as of Monday, July 29, Kay Nilram has joined the diocesan staff as office assistant on a short-term, contract basis.
She will be working 5 hours per day, 5 days per week. She will answer the phones, welcome visitors, and perform a variety of basic office tasks as requested by other staff. Ms. Nilram is a member of St. Martin-in-the-Fields, Keller, where she sings in the choir and is a lector. She has two sons, 18 and 20.
Ms. Nilram was born in Fairfield, CA, where her father was in the Air Force and her mother a registered nurse. She grew up in Denton. As a young woman, she went to school and trained at Job Corps in Albuquerque, NM. She has spent the majority of her career in customer service and sales, including stints in call centers as a telephone banker for Chase, a mortgage banker for Chase and Bank of America, lead generation and sales. She also worked in military insurance research for HCA. In one job she managed multiple warehouse accounts and created a process to insure that food not being used would be donated for use by those in need instead of being thrown away.
