Can you carry a tune without a bucket? Join a diocesan choir now forming to participate in the Eucharist with Presiding Bishop Michael Curry on Saturday, April 8, at 11 am at University Christian Church. David Lindsey, music director at St. Christopher Episcopal Church in Fort Worth, is coordinating the choir.
Anthems will be selected from 8 Anthems for About 12 Singers: Easy-to-Prepare Gospel Songs and Spirituals for SAB Choirs. Lindsey is ordering copies; however, if you already own a copy of this collection and can bring it, please do.
Two rehearsals are planned to learn the anthems and review the service music. The rehearsals will be in the parish hall at St. Christopher’s on these two days:
- 1 pm Saturday, March 25
- 1 pm Saturday, April 1
If you can participate in the diocesan choir for this April 8 Eucharist with the presiding bishop, please contact Lindsey through St. Christopher’s office as soon as possible, and let him know if you already have a copy of the music. Reach the church office at 817-926-8277 or office@stchrisfw.org.
“I hope as many singers as possible will join us as we celebrate this special occasion,” said Bishop Scott Mayer. “I am looking forward to sharing this wonderful time of worship.”
