This page contains information about online worship services, the link for downloading worship leaflets, and links to sermons preached at the diocesan online services for 2021.
As we continue to worship online, it is vital to remember that the Church is not closed. Some of our buildings are closed to the public, and in-person worship has been suspended in our congregations as we work to care for one another, especially the most vulnerable among us.
But God is with us. Ministry continues.
For as long as necessary, the diocese will be offering an online worship service each Sunday at 10 am at the Diocesan YouTube Channel and at Facebook.com/EpiscopalNTX
Clergy from several congregations will be taking part in the worship from week to week. You do not need a Facebook account to participate in the worship service. Worship leaflets for each service will be available to download as soon as they are prepared.
Download online worship leaflets here.
Please also check with your own congregations about what online offerings they will be making during the pandemic.
ANNOUNCEMENT
May 16, 2021, the Seventh Sunday of Easter, is the last Sunday the diocese will be presenting its own online worship service. With our congregations returning to in-person worship, the diocese will begin to feature a different one of our congregation’s live steamed worship services each week on the diocesan Facebook page. For now, these will include Trinity Fort Worth; All Saints Fort Worth; St. Martin-in-the-Fields, Keller; St. Luke’s, Stephenville; Good Shepherd, Granbury; and St. Alban’s Theatre Arlington.
On Pentecost, May 23, we will feature the 9:15 am service of Trinity Episcopal Church, Fort Worth. You will find the link to the service at the diocesan Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/EpiscopalNTX, the same place you have found the weekly diocesan service.
We are grateful to the wonderful clergy who have not only made this diocesan weekly offering possible, but who also made it beautiful and inspiring — Karen Calafat of St. Luke’s in the Meadow, Fort Worth; Allison Sandlin Liles of St. Stephen’s, Hurst; Kevin Johnson of St. Alban’s Theatre Arlington; Janet Waggoner, Canon to the Ordinary; Linda Taylor, retired canon; Jill Walters of All Saints Episcopal School, Fort Worth; and Robert Pace of Trinity.
We are grateful to our director of music for these services, Tony Kroll of St. Luke’s. He selected music, played for many of the services and coordinated our volunteer musicians and singers. We greatly appreciate and thank musicians John Dosher of St. Alban’s; David Lindsey of St. Christopher, musician and singer Stan Pascal of St. Stephen’s; singers Linda Loggins of St. Christopher; Cheryl Smith and A. J. Moreno of St. Alban’s; and Robin Glaze of St. Luke’s, who recorded the hymns and service music that so enriches our liturgy.
We are grateful to our faithful readers: Eleanor Forfang Brockman, William Lancaster, Rochester Hunter, Sheila Camp, Barry Brannon, Patti Calahan, Daun Harner-Weeks, and Elizabeth Edwards, of St. Luke’s; Diane Snow, Barb Cutter, Shannon Singer, Pailet Liles, Hill Liles, Mark Daly, Marilyn Jones, Dacoda Eubank, and Jane Jolley of St. Stephen’s; and Dave Burrows, Katy Rudolphy, Priscilla Promise, Gloria Bender, Steven Baker, and Steve Dequeant of St. Alban’s.
We are grateful for the use of St. Luke’s building for more than a year, and to Trinity, Fort Worth, for offering St. Mary’s Chapel for the recording of our diocesan worship these last few weeks. The altar guilds of St. Luke’s and Trinity are much appreciated.
We are grateful for the skill and experience of our director, videographer and editor, Steve Grenzow, who made the video and audio magic happen each week.
And we are grateful to Bishop Scott Mayer, who not only supports this effort but who contributed to its richness on a regular basis.
— Katie Sherrod, diocesan communication director
