The 2013 Diocesan Convention will be held November 8-9, 2013 in Wichita Falls at the Multi-Purpose Events Center (MPEC), 1000 5th Street, Wichita Falls, TX, 76301. The Rt. Rev. Robert O’Neill, tenth bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Colorado, will be the preacher at the Friday afternoon Eucharist of the 2013 Diocesan Convention on November 8, 2013. The convention will be held in Wichita Falls. Bishop O’Neil was educated at Texas Christian University and Berkeley Divinity School at Yale, and ordained to the priesthood in 1982. Advancing to General Convention 2015: “Greening and Screening”
Plans are well underway for the Episcopal Church’s General Convention in 2015, with noticeable adaptive changes to reducing the convention’s carbon footprint and to use software and technology to streamline legislative work. Noticeably, laptops, tablets, smartphones, and video monitors will be the primary media of legislative materials. This “convention of screens” will be made possible by a robust Wi-Fi system, which will be available for the first time on the floors of the House of Deputies and the House of Bishops.

Sandy Shockley and Deborah Nichols, both from St. Mary Hamilton, will attend the 141st Niobrara Convocation June 17-23, on the Lower Brule Reservation in the Diocese of South Dakota. The Niobrara Convocation – an annual gathering of the Lakota, Dakota, and Nakota peoples – has been termed “one of the most important events of the missionary work of the Episcopal Church in the United States.”
