TEC Executive Council approves generous grant

The Executive Council of The Episcopal Church passed a resolution on Friday, June 10, 2016, supporting the work of the Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth and responding to the diocese’s request, at the Executive Council’s February 26-28 meeting in Fort Worth, for $600,000 in grant funding. The resolution approved $217,500 from the general budget, something that happens only rarely. Church music workshop this weekend

The Fort Worth East Deanery met Monday, April 25 at St. Alban’s, Theatre Arlington, to hear updates on projects going on in each of the four churches as well as their deanery-wide food pantry project. Lay leader Marsha van Etten de Chant dies

Marsha van Etten DeChant, 66, lay leader in the diocese and member of the Episcopal Church of Wichita Falls (ECWF), died April 16, 2016. More than a hundred people attended a Memorial Celebration of her life at the ECWF parish hall on Thursday, April 21. The Rev. Robert Morgan “Bob” Tarbet, Jr., died on Wednesday, April 21, 2016, in a diving accident. The Rev. Dr. Wil Gafney, Associate Professor of Hebrew Bible at Brite Divinity School, is the recipient of the 2016 Catherine Saylor Hill Faculty Excellence Award for excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service. On Saturday, April 30, enjoy an evening of fun and fellowship from 6 to 9 pm at St. Martin-in-the-Fields Episcopal Church’s fundraiser to benefit St. Martin’s Episcopal School.
