Victor Mashburn was baptized and confirmed into the Episcopal Church while a student at North Texas State University, now The University of North Texas. He was active in parish life at Heavenly Rest – Abilene where he was an EYC Director, chalice bearer, lay reader and usher. He continued those ministries at Trinity Episcopal Church in Iowa City, Iowa, and was also elected to the Vestry, served as Junior and Senior Warden, managed a major capital campaign, and chaired a year-long committee re-examining the parish’s mission and purpose at its rededication during the 145th year of Trinity – Iowa City.
Victor and his wife of almost 49 years, Debra, have attended Trinity – Fort Worth since 2002. Victor continues serving at Sunday services, participates in men’s Bible study, organizes Foyer Groups, served on the Vestry, twice managed the annual Stewardship Campaign, and co-chaired the Succession Committee that invited Mtr. Carlye Hughes to Fort Worth. He was an integral part of the creation of the Trinity Episcopal Church Foundation of Fort Worth and serves as its Executive Director.
Victor hopes this perspective will be beneficial as the Diocesan Executive Committee helps the Diocese of Fort Worth move forward.
