Texas Impact, an organization that focuses on grassroots advocacy at the state capitol for issues important to members of mainline religious denominations, will be coming to Fort Worth to present information about what they do. Attend this event to learn how people of faith can have a greater impact on decisions made in the Texas state capitol.
Please RSVP by Sept. 29 to Kathleen Wells:
817-709-4207 or kathleenwells1@yahoo.com
You may also RSVP to the person who invited you, who will relay the good news of your attendance to us.
The gathering will be casual, informative, and fun. Refreshments will be served.
The presenter is Bee Moorhead, Executive Director of the organization, a position she has held since 2000. You will find her to be an engaging speaker. Texas Impact is a statewide religious grassroots network whose members include individuals, congregations, and governing bodies of the Christian, Jewish and Muslim faiths. Texas Impact exists to advance state public policies that are consistent with universally held social principles of the Abrahamic traditions. Texas Impact accomplishes its mission by developing grassroots networks in local communities and mobilizing them to advocate with their legislators on specific issues.
Representatives from Texas Impact gave a workshop at our diocesan convention last year, and the diocese, as well as various parishes and individuals, are members of this organization.
