Blessing of the Animals, 2021

Monday, October 4, 2021, is the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals and the environment. Bishop Mayer visits St. Alban’s Theatre Arlington

On the Eighteenth Sunday after Pentecost, the Rt. Rev. Scott Mayer, visited St. Alban’s Theatre Arlington. The congregation is worshiping in a classroom across Main Street from the theatre as it undergoes renovations. St. Alban’s is using the Creation Series and this Sunday was Mountain Sunday. There was a reception afterwards, and the congregation presenting Bishop Mayer with a birthday cake. His birthday is September 23. Registration for the 39th Annual Convention of The Episcopal Church in North Texas, which will be Saturday, November 13, 2021, via Zoom, opened September 14, 2021. There is no registration fee. Registration will close November 1, 2021. We will use the same voting system we did last year, which means delegates and clergy must register with the email they will use in voting. Register here.

On February 22, 2021, the Supreme Court of the United States declined to hear our cases, which meant the decision of the Texas Supreme Court awarding more than $100 million worth of property and our name to people who left The Episcopal Church in 2008 stands.
